This book is for anyone concerned with their diet and avoiding processed food. I must admit that I was skeptical about this book and was intrigued due to the amount of people I know trying this out. This book is full of ideas, recipes, and information not only about what paleo dieting is about but lets you know the dangers of processed foods and what foods to avoid. Simply put, it just makes sense. Even if you aren’t going to stick with the Paleo diet, I would recommend this regardless as it gives one a better insight to healthy eating. Not only does this have plenty of meal plans and recipes, but includes recipes for making the condiments that are paleo friendly so you won’t feel like you are missing anything.

Great starter book. explains everything. I love that it comes with a complete grocery list, meal plan and recipes. all recipes are simple and easy for a working mom.

I have been Paleo for at least six months so I can ascertain that her information is correct, but what is so appealing is her presentation! The order of her content is excellent as well as her lists and recommendations. I only wish this had been the first Paleo cookbook that had been available to me!

The concept is there and well intentioned, but I almost wonder if the author was drunk when writing this. As others have stated, incomplete shopping lists, recipes incorrect (too short or too long of cook times for example). Measurements way off. My favorite was the salad dressing that makes one cup total of liquid but to get that one cup you put about 2 1/2 cups of liquid into the mix. I'm still trying to figure out the size of an urban sweet potato bc I was told to buy "2 lbs plus 4 sweet potatoes" one week and when I weighed 2 sweet potatoes in the store I was already at 3 lbs. Not sure on that one. Pretty much every recipe calls for way more than needed....I have yet to put 4 whole oranges in the sunrise smoothie. One or two is more than enough to get a decent liquid amount for 2 people. I also wish more spices were added to a lot of the recipes as they are all kind of bland.Great concept and is easy to help those transition but some serious editing of the book is needed before the next edition.

i have quite a few cookbooks and they all drive me a little crazy because i cook for myself, not a family of four. I don't want to be bothered with 15 ingredients. i want a quick, easy, fast nutritious meal that suits my busy lifestyle. i'd much rather reach for something i can eat without preparing or order a pizza than cook for myself. SO - i was looking for a cookbook with nutritious meals that were easy to make, and tips for preparing foods that would make time in the kitchen more efficient. THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL. The recipes are delicious - I've bookmarked the ones I want to try, and have already made several of them, and I actually look forward to preparing the rest of them. By far my favorite cookbook. It's very practical, easy, and if you choose recipes with similar ingredients for the week, it won't cost you a fortune at the grocery store. I love the 28 day meal plan and shopping list, but I'm not personally using it because there are quite a few meat options that I don't eat. Even still, there is plenty of yumminess for me in this book, and I would highly recommend it.

I selected this book because it is a good beginner book for a newbie like me. My doctor recommended the Mediterranean diet to me and my husband because he is a heart patient and I have food allergies. However the Mediterranean diet has too many grains for my wheat gluten sensitivity, or perhaps Celiac, and the Paleo eliminates these grains and also dairy, which I'm allergic to (Truly allergic, not lactose intolerant). I also like the way Ms. Swanhart allows substitutions on this diet. I first downloaded a sample and thought I can't do this because she uses so many sweet potatoes, and my body rebels at sweet potatoes. Then I read her part about substitutions and found that there are too many people who are sensitive to white potatoes, but if one could eat them it would be acceptable to include them. White potatoes are my go to "comfort food," so I was immediately sold on her book. We plan to begin the Paleo diet after New Years. No use depriving ourselves of all those nasty sugars and saturated fats at Christmas dinners, I say!

I like the recipes in this book. I like how is has a good, general description of what Paleo is. This is a wonderful book for beginners just getting started, but also good for people that have been living the Paleo lifestyle for a while. This book is well written and easy to understand. My only real complaint for this book is that I wish I has an index with recipes sorted by the main ingredient (chicken, beef, egg, etc) but it is something I can do just fine without.

I have purchased 3 other books in the past to help me getting started with Paleo. This book is the best one! Extremely interesting to read, easy to follow through and has all the steps you need to be successful at starting the paleo eating lifestyle. I encourage anyone looking to start the Paleo to purchase this book.

This is the perfect cookbook to use to transition from the current diet you eat to the lifestyle change of a Paleo diet. Super easy to follow recipes no boring recipes easy to make recipes and an awesome detailed 4 week meal plan with 3 meals a day and snacks! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wanting to try it!
