This is a terrific book by Hazel Soan. I am an oil painter for the last 9 years and can always learn more. (I studied with several wonderful oil painters - Scott Christensen and Matt Smith - but I was painting only in pastel at that time.)This book has become part of my collection of Hazel Soan books. My wish is that it was the same size as her other books I own - 9 1/4" x 10 1/4".The wonderful images would be larger - very worth it.I am inspired to travel to the coast or big body of water - best I have where I live here in the desert Southwest is a tiny trail of water called Santa Fe River!
Good but not quite what I expected
Easily understood basic techniques. Easily accessable and inexpensive tools. Now I can jump in and experiment. I am a beginner to painting.
I'm new to oil painting and I found this full of useful instructions and examples. Great little book.
