Too much fun!When you have a zombie loving friend who is about to have her first baby, you have to make an impression with your baby shower gifts! :) A general amazon.com search of "zombie baby" and this is what I found!I love it! It's super funny, and the illustrations are typical of what you would find in a traditional baby's book. I laughed as I read through it, and I just know that my friend is going to be as tickled when she sees it as I was ordering and reading it for the first time.Super fun purchase, whether you are keeping it for yourself or giving it as a gift. Must have for any zombie lover!
I own a picture book called That's Not Your Mommy Anymore: A Zombie Tale by Matt Mogk and even though from the cover this is obviously a self-published book, I thought it might provide much of the same type of humour. It does have the same type of humour but it's not in the same league. The first part of the Baby's First Survival Guide is a parody of your A-Z books, We start off with various weapons, A is for Arrow, B is for Bow, C is for Cult Action Army Revolver and eventually move on to other zombie related things starting with Emergency Escape Route. The book does already date itself by having G is for Governor page with a T800 looking cartoon saying Come with me if you want to live. Some letters lessons aren't explained to the extent they need to either to ensure survival such as L for lair tells the reader to have 3 weeks supply of food yet what happens after three weeks, surely the hungry undead will just be waiting at the hatch? Still overall the A-Z part is a fairly fun parody of your average children's A-Z picture book. The illustrations are a bit basic but do cleverly look like one you find in government health and other information type pamphlets which does add to the fun.You also get a few bonuses with this Kindle download which start off with some parodies of children's nursing rhymes, still zombie themed of course. Then we move onto a short story called Abigail and the Zee at the Fence which is basically a reminded tale of what survivors should be doing if they notice a zombie trying to get through a loose pail in the fence. I found the bonus stuff to be better than the A-Z book part. Kindle font size issues seem to have been resolved, since the first person wrote their review. I had no problem viewing everything, just in case you were worried about that.If it's under a couple of dollars, Baby's First Survival Guide is well worth downloading.
It was the first book I read to my 2 month old grandaughter! :)
The envelope the book was sent in got stuck on the back part of the book (like maybe the glue that keeps the envelope closed?) anyway the back of the book now has envelope glued to it. So that's a bummer. But I suppose all is fair in a zombie apocalypse....
Gave this as a gift to a zombie lover who will probably get all of the classic baby books. He loved it.
